🛡️ ClipToNotion does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to third-party servers. Your privacy is our top priority.
Overview
ClipToNotion (hereinafter referred to as "the App") is a macOS menu bar tool that helps users send clipboard text content to Notion pages. This privacy policy explains how the App handles your information.
Data Collection
The App does not collect any personal information.
Specifically:
- No collection of user identity information (name, email, device identifiers, etc.)
- No collection of usage analytics or behavioral data
- No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs
- No ads or ad tracking
- No cookies or similar tracking technologies
Locally Stored Data
The App stores the following information locally on your device. This data is only saved on your macOS system and is never uploaded to any server:
| DATA TYPE | PURPOSE | STORAGE METHOD |
|---|---|---|
| Notion API Token | Connect to your Notion account | macOS UserDefaults |
| Page / Database ID | Specify target page for content delivery | macOS UserDefaults |
| Hotkey Settings | Store user-defined global hotkeys | macOS UserDefaults |
| Send History | Display summaries of previously sent content | Local file (Application Support) |
| Language Preference | Store user's chosen interface language | macOS UserDefaults |
Network Communication
The App only communicates with the following service:
- Official Notion API (
api.notion.com) — for sending clipboard content and testing connections
All network requests use HTTPS encryption. The App does not communicate with any other server or third-party service.
💡 Your clipboard content is sent directly from your device to Notion's servers, without passing through any third-party proxy or relay server.
Clipboard Access
The App reads the system clipboard text content only in the following situations:
- When you press the send hotkey
- When you open the clipboard panel to preview content
The App does not continuously monitor the clipboard in the background, nor does it record clipboard history.
Accessibility Permission
The App requires macOS Accessibility permission to register global hotkeys. This permission is solely used for listening to keyboard shortcut events, not for any other purpose.
Third-Party Services
The App uses Notion's official public API to send content. When you use the App to send content to Notion, the relevant data is subject to Notion's privacy policy.
Beyond this, the App does not integrate any third-party SDKs or services.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
Policy Changes
If there are significant changes to this privacy policy, we will notify you through app updates or this page. We recommend checking this page periodically for the latest privacy policy.
